Heart of Central
Our character and leadership development program for grades 9-12
Purpose:
To help students discover their identity in Christ and learn to lead themselves, so they can eventually lead others.

Goals for each high school student:
- Understanding what it means to be citizens of the Kingdom of God
- Developing a Christ-like character
- Understanding and developing principles and characteristics of Godly leaders
- Experiencing love and nurturing to in turn, share with others
Theme for each grade level:
- Freshmen – Understanding Yourself
- Sophomores – Developing Life Skills
- Juniors – Becoming a Leader
- Seniors – Being called to Serve
Curriculum includes:
- Time management, study skills, problem solving and study habits
- Scripture memorization
- Writing and revising a personal mission statement
- Character assessment, intertwined with a personal spiritual pilgrimage
- Driving responsibilities and car maintenance
- Keeping a record of service hours and co-curricular involvement
- Public speaking and marketing oneself
- Planning for a career
- Preparation for life after high school, including a job resume, job interview, college application and obtaining references
