The Difference Between Public Schools and Central Christian School |
Public Schools |
Central Christian School‘s Approach |
Purpose |
To create good citizens of the United States of America. |
To train students to be Citizens of the Kingdom of God. To build a kingdom that is centered around Christ. |
View of |
Man is the default God because God is not to be legally discussed. |
God is the creator of all. God has saved the world through the blood of Jesus. Emphasis is placed on the love of God for all humanity. “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” |
Truth |
Truth is found in each of us. And we are all responsible for discerning that truth within. |
Truth is discerned within the communities of believers. The Bible is the God-breathed Word, and is understood in the relationship with the followers of Christ and tested by the life of Jesus. |
Practical Application |
Bible |
The Bible is a view of history that may be studied at times but is not seen as central to life or education. |
The Bible is central to all activities and classes. Bible class is viewed as the most important class at school. Daily chapels are held to affirm the teaching of the Bible. |
Learning |
You learn so that you might fulfill your dreams. |
You learn so that you might faithfully follow God’s call on your life. |
Discipline |
Discipline is a personal thing. Schools teach students to discipline themselves so that we might find personal fulfillment or better life, health, etc. |
Discipline is Christian discipleship. Disciple students to understand that all action has consequences and to help them understand and identify the consequences created. |
Teaching |
Teaching is helping students experience learning by discovering their environment and personal talents. |
Teaching is discovering God’s purpose for life and develops an appreciation for God’s creation. Teachers model learning and faithfulness to God’s call. Teachers see themselves as assisting parents in the education of their children. |
Environment |
An environment where all are equally safe to learn how to become good citizens. We want all of our students to be successful in the workplace and community. |
An environment where a caring relationship with all is stressed. All students are called to live a life that brings honor to Christ who is Lord of His Kingdom. |
