Statement on Racial Equity
Statement from the Board of Trustees
Central Christian School
July 7, 2020
Central Christian School is firmly committed to providing a quality, Christ-centered education to all persons, without regard to race or ethnicity. Throughout its history, Central Christian has welcomed students from the U.S. and abroad, with the intention of having a diverse student body. The Christian faith and values that drive the mission of the school and as expressed in the Mennonite Confession of Faith teach that all persons are created in the image of God, and that Christ has come for the whole world. Discrimination of any kind is inconsistent with the school’s core values and mission. The Board affirms the school’s commitment to Christ’s teaching that we are to treat all persons with love, respect and dignity, and will continue to examine our practices and procedures to assure our actions match our desire for racial equity.
This fall, we will be renewing our strategic plan that will guide our goals for the next three years. As engaged persons who want to help Central better live out its mission, please consider participating in listening sessions that will be available to our stakeholders. If you have comments, questions or feedback on the overarching vision and mission of the school please write to the Board and send it to Michele Patterson, our board secretary. MicheleP@centralchristianschool.org who will make sure that your letter is shared with all board members. We dedicate our efforts to Know Christ and to Make Him Known. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
