Meet the Enrollment Directors

Bruce Kooker (International Enrollment)

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am married to Sheryl, who is an intervention specialist at Apple Creek Elementary. We have two children, Larissa (‘97 alumnus) and Zach (‘00 alumnus), daughterinlaw Mary (Wittmer ‘00) Kooker and three grandchildren, Kye, Zayver and Jase. I attended Christopher Dock High School and Hesston & Goshen Colleges.

What are some of your hobbies?

I truly enjoy being a grandparent. I also enjoy being involved with sports activities. I have spent part of the past six summers taking oneweek trips to major league baseball parks around the U.S. with family members and play on a MSBL senior baseball team. Another hobby is learning and acquiring skills needed for home construction projects and vehicle repairs.

How many years have you worked at Central?

Over 31 years.

Do you have other responsibilities at Central besides Admissions?

I assist in the Development and Transportation departments and serve as assistant baseball coach.

What do you like best about your job?

I enjoy working with people of all ages and cultures. People have a way of providing inspiration and challenge. God has provided people with different purposes in life and gifts to be shared wherever they reside. At Central, we have the opportunity to aid in the development of students’ character and challenge them to stretch themselves.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

It is difficult to choose just one, but James 1:19 is a favorite: “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am married to Daniel who works at the City of Orrville. We reside in Orrville with our two children, Elaina and John who attend CCS.

What are some of your hobbies?

My family and I love to travel, hike and enjoy nature. Daniel and I enjoy watching Elaina play golf and John play soccer. Both of them are also involved in choir and drama, which is lots of fun to watch as well!

How many years have you worked at Central?

I have worked at CCS for almost 10  years.

Do you have other responsibilities at Central besides Local Enrollment?

I am the marketing director.

What do you like best about your job?

It is a joy to be able to introduce new families to our community at CCS. We have a lot of special people here and our mission of Growing Leaders and Building the Church is one that I find worthy of promoting and sharing.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
