The visual arts offer a hands-on way for students to explore and appreciate the world God has created. Central offers opportunities for all ages to create and study visual arts.
Our elementary students take exploratory courses in art that focus on fine motor skills such as cutting, gluing and coloring. The projects look at the elements of art: line, texture, value, form, color, and shape.
Exploratories continue through middle school. Students create artworks that demonstrate understanding of materials, processes, tools, media, techniques, and available technology. They learn to use art elements, principles, and images to communicate their ideas in a variety of visual forms. Each grade also studies historical and current artists.
High school students may choose from Visual Arts electives such as Basic Art, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture.
