After a five year hiatus, the Central Christian Performing Arts Center will once again be host to the Frohliche Dorf Show! Saturday, November 15 is the date for the variety show that features comedic skits, music and special guests and more. The title is German for “Cheerful Village”. This will be the seventh show that producers Tim Shue and Brenda Troyer have written and organized since 2011.

The show attempts to create a place where old and young alike can both laugh and sing and even participate being on the stage again. “Once someone graduates from high school, the opportunities to do something on stage don’t come around very often,” cites Shue. “The momentum seemed right to create another Frohliche Dorf this year! “I keep getting asked when the next one will be”.  Special features include Sonnenberg Station, the Doofendorf Polka band and Honeytown.

Small town life that inherited the unique quirks of a rural area with even more layers inherited from the Amish and Mennonite culture provide a lot of fun fodder for Shue and Troyer to write about. “There will be new material for this one, but we will definitely be bringing back some of our favorite skits from the past.” Stay tuned for more details!
