Central Christian School has a strong tradition of music that has always been enhanced by our Private Lesson Program for K-12 students. These lessons help grow and challenge our student musicians. Students then bless the school, the church and the community with their talents. They also learn to praise God through their musical expressions of worship!
Central Christian School employs skilled musicians from the community who teach lessons on-campus during the school day, making this optional program convenient for busy families. Registration information is sent to parents via email in August (for first semester) and again in December (for second semester).
Lesson Information
Lesson students receive thirteen, 30-minute lessons per semester. These students may miss part of a class on a weekly basis and are responsible for making up the work that they miss.
-Students in grades 9-12 may take lessons on two different instruments per week.
-Students in grades K-8 are allowed one lesson per week.
Financial Assistance for Private Lessons
Private Lessons are not included in tuition, however, there are two possibilities available for financial assistance. Once awarded, the scholarships below are good for the entire school year. These scholarships cover half of the cost of private lessons, and families are responsible for payment of the other half. To apply, please contact Hannah Steiner, Private Lesson Coordinator, at HannahS@CentralChristianSchool.org.
1) Anna Knutson Memorial String Scholarship:
This scholarship is available to a limited number of violin, viola, cello or string bass students that qualify for free or reduced lunches, OR students that are the second or third child in the family that are taking lessons. For more information about Anna's legacy, click here.
2) Legacy Music Scholarship:
This scholarship is available to a limited number of students registering for lessons on any instrument (including voice or guitar), however, preference will be given to students NOT taking violin, viola, cello or string bass, since the Anna Knutson Memorial String Scholarship covers those instruments. Scholarship applicants must qualify for free or reduced lunches, OR be the second or third child in the family taking lessons. For more information on this scholarship, click here.
