The Mission of Central Christian School
At Central Christian School, we exist to know Christ and to make Him known. From our founding in 1961 by numerous faithful Mennonite families and churches in Wayne and Holmes Counties to the vibrant community we are today, this vision and mission has remained constant. For more than six decades, we have pursued a vision of education that is unapologetically Christ-centered, academically excellent, and rooted in relationships. Currently, we are building with purpose, equipping students for lives of faithful service and leadership in a changing world.
Why Forward in Faith?
Enrollment growth brings new challenges.
Enrollment has increased by almost 30 percent in the last five years. More and more families are choosing Central—not just for what we teach, but for who we are, a Christ-centered school with an Anabaptist faith and practice. Many of our K-6 classes are at or near capacity and now is the time to expand and grow.
Moving Forward in Faith
Launched in 2019, Forward in Faith is a multi-phase campaign to revitalize and expand our campus so it can continue to support the mission of Central Christian School for generations to come.
Progress So Far
The first progression (2021-2022) renovated the oldest parts of our building. The second progression focused on improving the heart of our daily student life: the cafeteria, kitchen, and concessions areas (2024).
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we:

Transformed the oldest parts of our building including:
• the new main entrance and lobby
• new Main Office and office suite
• two new sick rooms
• two new classrooms
• 10 renovated classrooms
• new furniture and cabinets for all of these areas
• new front parking lot and driveways
Renovated and expanded our cafeteria:
• completely rebuilt the kitchen
• added a new concessions area, and a warm-up kitchen
Replaced and upgraded:
• the fire suppression system
• upgraded classroom technology
• telephone system and repaired aging infrastructure
• HVAC systems, flooring, and windows

What's Next
The next phase of Forward in Faith will include:
- New Elementary Wing with flexible, future-ready classrooms.
- Collaborative breakout areas for tutoring, small groups, and discipleship.
- A state-of-the-art Multi-Purpose Room for chapel, performances, projects, and worship.
- Outdoor and playground upgrades that nurture curiosity and play.
- Expanded student support areas for counseling, advising, and learning services.
- Resurfaced tennis courts (with potential pickleball).
- Improved parking & traffic flow for safer drop-off and pick-up.
These updates are not just about buildings—they are about forming students who will walk with Christ into an ever-changing world.

“I invite you to participate in what God is doing through Central Christian School. Our students experience and bring the Kingdom of Jesus in a school steeped in Christ-centered learning. This is made possible by a generous, supportive community and helps us to continue sharing Central Christian School’s enduring mission.” -Nate Holton, Superintendent
We’re Building Not Just For Today, But For Tomorrow
We believe that Central Christian School is uniquely positioned to offer what the world desperately needs: young people who love Jesus, who think critically and act compassionately, and who are prepared to be servant leaders in every field and calling.
Would you prayerfully consider how you can be a part of this exciting and essential work? Whether through a one-time or recurring financial gift, a pledge to our capital campaign, or by sharing the story of Central with others, your support makes a lasting difference. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us move Forward in Faith.
Together, with God’s leading and your partnership, we can ensure that future generations of Central students are equipped to live, learn, and lead like Jesus—in our community and far beyond.
Let’s move Forward in Faith — together.
Ways to Give
Give Today
Contributions of cash gifts build a strong foothold for the project to move forward, allowing the work to move forward with less or reduced short-term debt incurred.
Pledge Today
A committed gift over several years provides funding for a project to begin and be paid off on a prescribed time table.
Plan for Estate Giving
Including Central Christian school in your estate planning is a powerful way to partner in the mission of growing Christian leaders. Estate plans can transfer cash, securities or other assets. Estate gifts will be directed to the school’s endowment fund unless designated otherwise.
