Multiage Relationships
Multi-age relationships have become a special and very natural part of what we do at Central Christian.
“My daughter Kylie is 7, and she looks up to middle school and high school students so much. She tells everyone, even complete strangers in the grocery store, about her “teenage friends” from school. On the first day of school this year, we pulled into the parking lot and she was ecstatic to point out to her younger sister which high school students were her ‘friends’!” -Emily Tighe
Student Reflections
“I was able to participate as a counselor in Outdoor Ed, OpCo (Operation Connection), Teacher Apprenticeship mini term, and TI (Teacher Internship). The Teacher Internship that I did with First Grade changed my life! I loved and value every second of these experiences I had at Central, and as a result I am currently studying to become an elementary teacher and special educator.”
-Zoe Jarvis, Class of '22
Multi-age Relationships
Central Christian School is all about connections, and Multi-Age Relationships are an integral part of what shapes and defines who we are. These Multi-Age Relationships are among the Six Distinctives at Central Christian. To further promote this core value, all students were moved under one roof.
A few multiage opportunities Central provides include:
-School Day Out
-OpCo (Operation Connection, with student buddy pairs meeting once a month, and sitting next to each other during chapel second semester. 7th and 8th grade students are paired with junior and senior students for the school year.)
-Reading Buddies (between 4th grade and Kindergarteners)
-Outdoor Education
-All School Worship Chapels
-Seniors students read to elementary students during HoC
-Teacher Apprenticeship mini-term
-Teacher Internship
